Beitrag von: hideway2 am Februar 20, 2009, 15:12:10
For those who want to startup the computer with instantly connecting to Hideway via OpenVPN, here is what you have to do under Windows XP:

Requirement: OpenVPN with GUI installed.

1. Create an OpenVPN-GUI-Shortcut in the "Startup" menu.
2. Click with the right mouse button on that shortcut.
3. Select the "properties" option.
4. In the "Shortcut" tab in the field "Target" enter the following after "...\openvpn-gui.exe":
--config_dir [path of the directory containing the configuration files] --connect [Hideway-KeyPack-Name].ovpn
5. Now left click on the "OK" button to save the changes.

With the next system boot, OpenVPN will automatically connect to the Hideway-Server at Windows startup.

Content of the changed "Target" field
[path of the installation directory of OpenVPN-GUI]openvpn-gui.exe --config_dir [path of the directory containing the configuration files] --connect [Hideway-KeyPack-Name].ovpn

Example:
C:\Program\OpenVPN\bin\openvpn-gui.exe --config_dir C:\Program\OpenVPN\config\ --connect d12345_v2.ovpn

Example explanations:
Path of the installation directory of OpenVPN-GUI:
C:\Program\OpenVPN\bin\

Path of the directory containing the configuration files:
C:\Program\OpenVPN\config\

Hideway-KeyPack-Name:
d12345_v2
(config-files older than version 2 do not have the "_v2" ending)

HINT:
Please note the space characters in front and after " --config_dir " and " --connect "!
