To configure a VPN connection using PPTP on a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone the following steps need to be completed:

1. Open the menu and choose "Settings".
2. In the "Settings" menu choose "Connections".
3. In the "Connections" menu choose again "Connections".
4. Select the "New VPN Serverconnection" option.
5. Enter the VPN settings:
     Name:              Hideway [or choose whatever you like]
     Hostname/IP:     vpn1.hideway.eu (if it fails, try the IP 83.65.30.29)
     VPN-Typ:          PPTP         

6. Continue with "Next".
7. Enter your user details:
     Username:      txxxxx [YOUR Hideway account number; e.g. t12345]
     Password:      [YOUR Hideway account password]  (please strengthen the default password when using PPTP)
     Domain:         [leave it empty]

8. Complete the setup with the "Finish" button.


Please note, as we do not possess a phone running Windows Mobile 6.5, it would be nice if anyone could confirm the above procedure and extend or amend it where necessary.

Thank you hideway2 for replying.

I've tried this setting several times but it still doesn't work.
I receive the message " VPN Server problems. Verify your username and password., and try again. If the problem continues turn the device off and try again."
I'm sure the username and password are correct.

Hello Kayvan,

have you tried your phone's suggestion to enter your username and password again or restart your phone?

If this does not help, you could also try to establish a connection using L2TP (shared key is: 123). Please also check if your mobile phone network operator supports VPN connections. As this also is not always the case.

Last, but not least, please also check your phone's manual regarding the VPN support. Some phones only support VPN over Wireless LAN and not over the mobile network.

I've tried all steps and it sill doesn't work.
